About ICMAB  

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) is the national body of professional Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh established with the prime objective of promoting and regulating the CMA profession in the country. The Institute offers education and training to students interested in pursuing a career in this field and provides a highly recognized CMA qualification on fulfillment of requisite criteria. The Institute is a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh dedicated to CMA education and research. The Institute was set up in 1958 as a branch of the Pakistan Institute of Industrial Accountants (PIIA), renamed as Bangladesh Institute of Industrial Accountants (BIIA) after the independence of Bangladesh in 1972, reconstituted as the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh under the Cost and Management Accountants Ordinance, 1977 and finally continuing its legacy by Cost and Management Accountants Act, 2018. ICMAB is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), and the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), and maintains a strategic alliance with CPA Ireland.
